POTENTIOMETER (DIMMER)
This unit can regulate light intensity from 600 to 1150 W by simply adjusting the dial in the ballast itself. Likewise, it can be connected to the Solux Master Controller to control up to 160 Lights through the RJ port of the equipment.
SMART STEP TECHNOLOGY
Turning the dial on the digital ballast can reduce the output of a lamp when less power is needed. Simply turn the dial again to go back to maximum power
SUPER LUMEN
The Super Lumen feature on the Solara1000 unit will increase the output of the higher power ballast lamp to achieve maximum lamp performance. The increase is approximately 10%.
SMART START
This revolutionary feature, unique to our products, makes the GC Series digital ballast the safest and most reliable ballast when used in automated multi-lamp systems. When multiple units are connected to the same power supply circuit, our integrated ignition control software will fully balance the power consumption by switching on one lamp at a time to avoid surges and electrical spikes that can overload the power circuit and circuit breaker systems. For greater efficiency, this feature is activated together with our “Soft Start Technology”.
SOFT START TECHNOLOGY
Soft Start technology prolongs the life of the lamp, avoiding overloading it. When the ballast starts, there will be a fixed delay of 3 seconds before the lamp is lit. After the ignition there will be a series of random delays of 0-2 seconds before the full brightness is reached, which takes approximately 3-5 minutes. SoftStart technology is also activated by increasing and decreasing the power of the lamp through the ‘Smart-Step’ function.
HOT LAMP RE-IGNITION AFTER A NETWORK FAILURE
The digital ballast of the Solux series uses a timed reactivation system that prevents the ballast from turning on a hot lamp after a power cut. If a hot lamp is detected, the new activation will be delayed for 60 second intervals until the lamp has cooled sufficiently to re-ignite. The re-ignition is controlled by ‘SmartStart Ignition Control’ and ‘Soft Start Technology’ software.
LAMP COMPATABILITY
The Solux series’ digital ballast is suitable for use with all good quality HPS lamps, metal halide lamps, and ceramic metal halide lamps (LEC). For best results and a guaranteed perfect combination, we recommend Solux horticultural lamps. Solux lamps are optimized for use with high efficiency electronic ballasts with adjustable output.
AUTOMATIC FREQUENCY ADJUSTMENT
The Solux series’ digital ballast automatically adjusts its output frequency to maintain a constant output regardless of fluctuating input power and aging lamps. This also avoids the “flickering of the lamp”.
CIRCUIT PROTECTION
The Solux series’ digital ballast uses a sopHisticated system of circuit interruption controlled by software not seen in the ballasts of other manufacturers. The system protects against a series of failures that include: open circuit protection, short circuit protection, overvoltage protection, low voltage protection and high temperature protection. When turned on, the ballast performs a 3-second test of the circuit and, in case of failure, the ballast will go into protection mode to prevent damage to the ballast and the lamp.
